I have known Denny for many years, he was the step-father of my friend Jessica and a good neighbor. I would see Denny in the neighborhood with a smile on his face, he recently moved out of the neighborhood and i dont get to see that smile anymore, but i know he still wears it all the time, He would always have the hands to help anyone out. If i had the hood of my car up he would help me check the oil or put the oil in it, or what ever needed done at the time. Denny i know you are a good hearted strong man and you will fight this ALS with all you have. Keep fighting!! and if you ever need anything you know we are here. My thought and prayers are with you and your family always. I really admire your strength and courage! Thank you for being you and doing what you are doing, as you will and have made an impact on many lives. God Bless you!!!

I have known Denny for a very long time- even though we haven’t been in touch for awhile- he still made a big impact on my life. He taught me how important family is and that is demonstrated in the love he has for his daughters- it is unlike no other! He was there for me when I was pregnant and was there for the birth of my sons. He made sure my little boys had everything they needed when they were born. You are a very kind hearted person and damn good Dad! I have many great memories of you! Keep fighting!! I know you will!!!!

I met Dennis at the Credit Union, I call him Alice. -) What a super nice fellow. Our great passion fo rmotorcycles led us to our conversations and now just friendship. He calls just to see how I’m doing. See I lost my oldest son on 09-11-07 and he calls me to see how I’m doing?! I just wanna know how he is, praying that he’s having a good day. It’s been a while since he’s been in and that worries me then he calls. I told him that I would love to do his last ride with him, weather permitting.God seems to have a lesson for all of us and just as my son mastered his I think Denny did too. Unconditional love! You got it ALICE!!! Thanks for being such a good friend and a total sweet heart! Love ya my friend!I will be in constant prayer for you!

I met Denny from a good friend of mine named Sue. I had heard so much about him and finally our paths crossed. I know a lot about this disease because I had a aunt who passed away from this. I had never really knew much about this until he came down with it, and I then did some research myself. Denny is a wonderful person, always making you laugh. Hopefully someday they will find a cure for such a disease in the mean time all we can do is be there for him. Denny, my thoughts and prayers our with you.God Bless…

To my very best friend and brother;I met Denny in the summer of 2000. Dennys, late model Ford Thunderbird was in need of some work, and I had a small shop set up at my home, and he had stopped by to see about having his car repaired. At first, Denny was just another customer in need of my magic, I repaired the car, and being that I like to talk, Denny and I began to talk. As we spent more time talkingI noticed that there was something exceptionally special about this young man.He always had a smile on his face, and a magnetism in his personality that was extremely enlighting to me, and so very difficult to ignore. My personal life was not going well, and I guess that Denny had sensed that things were not going well for me. After that first meeting, Denny would stop by from time to time to visit, and to invite me to go places with him, and so we became very good friends.I had moved to Akron some 6 years earlier and in that 6 year period there were very few people that I had met that I enjoyed spending my spare time with, and then I met Denny Parsons, he took me into his life and treated me as though we were brothers, you know the kind of brothers that really care about each other! When I learned of Dennys medical situation, I sat down and cried. here is this man that didn’t care that I was an old pain in the ass, he didn’t care that I was moody, and angry at the world most of the time, he always had something to say that made me feel good inside, and that tomorrow was another day, and it would be better than the day before.I know Denny! I know that the world needs to be full of people that is the heart and soul of Denny Parsons, and it would not be a better place, but instead the world would be a GREATER place. To know Denny, is to love Denny! To my very best friend and brother Denny Parson, you have no idea how much I love you, and you will be MISSED!!!!!!Steve Hughart ( The Old Bastard)

I met Denny a couple of years ago at a Fisticuff show. Diana’s brother Pat (who is the drummer for the band) introduced me to him. It was about a year ago when I learned of his fight with ALS. You have to admire Denny, dispite his struggle with ALS he manages to maintain his strong sense of humor. There is never a dull moment when Denny is around. Most people would give up on life but not Denny, he lives each day to it’s fullest. I want to say ” I am honored to have Denny as a friend.”God bless you my friend…

Irene
I’ve know Denny since he came into my daughter, Diana’s life about 5 or 6 yrs ago. His daughter and my grandaughter were best friends. He is a wonderful, big-hearted guy that does not know a stranger. He had a great time riding around South Florida last January on his motorcycle along with my son Patrick. He even liked shooting the BS with the old guys down at the pool where I live , when he and Diana were here visiting, and they all liked him. You really can’t take him anywhere and be quiet – he is right out there talking to folks and laughing and getting them to laugh. He is an absolute inspiration, and when I wake up in the morning and feel like whining about my little aches and problems, I think of Denny who goes onwards and upwards as much as he can all the time. God bless him and my wonderful, strong daughter in their unimaginable struggles.

what can I say about this wonderful gift of a human being that entered my world four years ago! our journey actually goes back over twenty years. We both attended the same schools and ran with the same crowd of kids. He was just as funny and free spirited back then as he is now. I did not keep in touch with any of my classmates after graduation. I went off and got married, had two kids etc. it was around the year of 2001 that my youngest daughter Amanda was in Jr. High School that she met and began to hang out with Jackie. I would come to find out later that Jackie was Denny’s daughter. And as the time went on, Denny and I began to speak more now that our kids were good friends.Fast forward to the present: When Denny and I found out last year that he was sick, I felt my heart sink to an all time low! This wonderful gift of a man that entered my life again four years ago is battling with this devestating illness and there is nothing I can do to help him. I feel powerless. I love this man with everything in me! What will my world be like without him? I can say this: I will have the most wonderful memories of the valuable time we have had together.Denny, this is for you from your Dollface—- I love you so much! I am going to be with you every step of the way through this! I will never leave your side. You have given me such happiness, I will hold every memory of our time together (as I do now) very close to my heart. Lets continue the fight together!

I have had the pleasure of knowing and working with Denny. You could always depend on Denny to do his job in an intelligent , efficient and professional manner. He was always honest in his relationships with his fellow workers and a genuine good and kind individual. A few years ago I had a serious operation and I had many visitors, family, friends, co-workers from the office, but only one visitor from the machine shop. It was Denny, he stood at the door of my room while I visited with my family. One of my cousins said ” there is a man standing in the doorway, I think that he wants to visit you “. Sure enough, it was Denny in his black pants, shirt and leather vest, boots and of course his DUE RAG. What a great guy, I feel really blessed to know him. I hope to visit him soon. that you for your article, he is an inspiration to all of us.

I have known Denny for many many years. We met back in our “Wild years”. I was his 2nd wife’s best friend. Denny, when you read this, I want you to sit down and think back to those “Good ol days!” It is sure to bring a smile to your face! Remember a certain friend of yours walking through a certain establishment with toilet paper stuck to his shoes? LOL Oh man, we had sooooo many laughs. Like I have read over and over here……Denny loves to laugh and he loves to make people laugh. I can also agree with the comment that he would help anyone anytime! He was ALWAYS out in the garage working on something! LOL I haven’t seen Denny for a few years, but to see these pictures and to read about him, it just brings back all the memories.I have marked this as one of my favorite pages and I will keep in touch through the site on a weekly basis. Denny, I will pray for you as I have done since I learned about your terrible disease. I will pray for your beautiful daughters that they can enjoy being with you for as long as the lord will allow them to. I think this whole project is a wonderful way to contribute to people that want to and need to learn about this disease. Thank you for providing this.Love yaCindi O

I met Denny about a year ago through Diana, Denny’s girfiriend. I have to say I dont think I have ever met another person who loves to laugh as much as Denny. Everytime I see him he is laughing, and making jokes so that everyone around him is laughing to. He brightens any room he enters. He is an amazing man to be going through all of this with a smile on his face. I also need to comment on Diana who has been with Denny every step of the way. She may not have ALS but she is there by his side fighting this disease everyday. she is a strong, wonderful person. My thoughts and prayers are with you Denny, Diana, and family

I’ve known Denny, not long enough. I have been blessed with his friendship for a few years now. We have shared so many laughs together, and actually even some tears. Okay and a few beers. He probley doesn’t know it, but he’s saved my life with his love, and friendship a few times. I have always carried him in my heart since I have met him, and I always will. We are deffinetly one in the same. I keep telling myself God has chosen him because he knows Denny is survivor no matter the obsticals life throws at him. Life beats within his soal no matter who, or what is trying to suck it out. Denny is a ray of sunshine for whoever is lucky enough to meet him. We all know that though, I don’t need to remind any of you. I love you Denny. *You are my HerO…*

I just finished a good book……….tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom. Anyone who has not read this book go to your local library and check it out. It is about a professor with ALS and his student. You will have a different look on life. Denny I want you to get this book to and read it, it is a great book. I am not a big book person but someone had told me about this book, now I am telling someone else.

Denny, you have bonded with so many people and all in our own personal ways. you are a gift. You are the person people can come to and you never judge the personal conversations we share. Our lives are different and yet the same if that makes sense. You are one of the most honest people i have known. I often look up to you.
